Industry Trends in Clinical Research

The Rise of Decentralized Clinical Trials
One of the most exciting trends in clinical research is the move towards decentralized clinical trials (DCTs). These trials are transforming the way research is conducted, making it easier for patients to participate from the comfort of their homes. This trend is expected to continue growing, offering new opportunities for professionals in clinical research. Learn more about the rise of DCTs and their impact on the industry.

AI and Data in Clinical Research
Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasing role in clinical trials, from patient recruitment to data analysis. AI tools can help streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance decision-making. Discover how AI is shaping the future of clinical research and why it’s an exciting time to enter the field.

Fun Facts for Students

Did You Know?

The first clinical trial dates back to the 1740s! It was conducted by James Lind to test the effects of different treatments for scurvy among sailors.

Clinical trials are essential for the development of new treatments. In fact, 80% of drugs approved by the FDA are the result of clinical trials!

A “double-blind” trial means that neither the participants nor the researchers know who is receiving the treatment or the placebo. This ensures unbiased results.

Resources to Get Started in Clinical Research
Top Certifications for Beginners
As you start your career in clinical research, earning relevant certifications can boost your credentials. One of the most recognized is the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Certification, which is essential for working in clinical trials. We also recommend exploring other certifications like Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) and Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to gain specialized skills.
